About Us – Knife Works
In the early 1970s, Kevin Pipes and John Parker began selling pocketknives from the backs of their pickup trucks. What started as a simple operation built on trust and consistency gradually turned into something much larger. After years of building relationships with customers and suppliers, knifeworkz officially opened its doors in 1978.
Since then, the company has expanded significantly. After outgrowing two locations, we moved into our current 108,000-square-foot facility in Sevierville, Tennessee. Over the past four decades, knifeworkz has grown into a recognized name in the knife and outdoor gear industry, serving millions of customers in-store and online.
Every day, our team fulfills thousands of orders from our advanced distribution center in Dandridge, Tennessee. Whether you’re a casual buyer or a longtime collector, our goal is to provide reliable service and quality products.

Located in Sevierville, TN, our retail store welcomes over 1.5 million visitors annually. The space features a wide range of knives, tools, and gear, as well as rare cutlery items and historical displays. If you’re passing through the area or visiting the Smoky Mountains, it’s worth stopping in.
